The UHealth system at the University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Specialist.

SUMMARY

The Marketing Specialist develops and maintains all marketing and communication programs and projects designed to effectively promote the programs and services of the department. The incumbent for this position delegates and supervises the work performed by student staff, vendors, and contractors, as well as assesses the results of all marketing efforts. An employee in this position serves as “editor in chief” for all internal and external communications and oversees the development and production of all external publications and collateral materials.

CORE FUNCTIONS

Writes or edits, direct the design of, publishes, and distributes marketing and communication materials.

Maintains familiarity with all departmental programs and services and updates all communication resources accordingly.

Serves as editor for all departmental newsletters and assumes responsibility for promoting, updating, and responding to all social media.

Develops the content of the department’s website and monitors information to assure the web site is accurate.

Develops advertising messages and promotional campaigns for the organization.

Creates tracking systems that evaluate the effectiveness of marketing programs and projects implemented by the department.

Coordinates and assists with special events and community outreach projects designed to increase awareness and utilization of services.

Oversees the maintenance of essential resources and background files including subject and source files, photo files, and related information.

Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing or communications.

Experience:

Two years of marketing experience, preferably in the health sector.

Department Specific Functions

The Marketing Specialist supports with the execution of Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center’s marketing strategies by coordinating the production of marketing collateral and videos, executing digital marketing activities and supporting with measurement efforts. We are looking for a creative and detailed-oriented candidate that is proactive and works well in a team environment.

Coordinates production of marketing materials

Develops copy for collateral material, including flyers, brochures, event invitations, among others.

Coordinates design with internal and external designers.

Keeps internal tracker up to date.

Coordinates multimedia needs

Staffs video productions and photoshoots on campus.

Coordinates production with video and photography vendors.

Gathers wardrobe and other props for video productions and photoshoots.

Keeps internal stakeholder contact list up to date.

Keeps Sylvester’s video gallery up to date and organized.

Executes digital marketing activities

Updates distribution lists.

Uploads and distributes email blasts.

Supports with measurement efforts

Develops integrated reports for MarComm team.

Keeps MarComm master calendar up to date.
