THE POSITION

The Bureau of Standardbred Horse Racing is currently seeking Livestock Workers to support Veterinarians in managing horses, documenting information, and obtaining urine samples at Meadows Racetrack. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Livestock Worker 1, you will be accountable for upholding accurate data management, including adherence to chain of custody protocols. This position is responsible for verifying the identity of racehorses through tattoo identification, collecting urine samples, handling and verifying sample kits, maintaining cleanliness in work and barn areas, and providing assistance in any other essential farm operations. You will excel in this opportunity with prior experience working with livestock and a passion for animal care.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


Part-time employment
Work hours are 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Tuesday- Saturday, with 30-minute lunch.
The work schedule is vendor-controlled and is determined by the racing schedule. Work times may vary slightly depending on racing schedule.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Experience in general farm work; and such training as may have been gained through completion of the eighth school grade; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
You must be willing and able to work in Washington County, Pennsylvania.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
Ability to perform duties in and around horses with exposure to dust, dirt and hay.
Ability to work a varied schedule which may include holidays and weekends.
Willingness to work outside in adverse weather conditions.
