Maintenance Journeyman Electrician

The Position

APEL is seeking a full time Journeyman Electrician at our new facility in Phoenix. Applicant must have strong PLC programming experience, as well as hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment.

Job description

Troubleshooting and repairing of machinery quickly and effectively to maximize production time.
Working on various projects involving fabrication, rebuilding parts, wiring panels and inspecting machinery.
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs.
Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Help other maintenance and operational personnel as needed.
Work independently and as a team.
Any other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skill, and Experience Requirements:

Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, variable frequency drives, 3 phase 480vac equipment, motor controls and sensors.
Experience with and understanding of hydraulic/pneumatic valves, pumps, cylinders and schematics.
Experience with general industrial equipment such as chains, bushings, bearings, gearboxes and drive belts.
Experience with fabrication and reading blueprints.
Lock out/tag out.
Operating a forklift and man lift.
Working safely in elevated heights and in confined space.
Working safely around chemicals and the proper use of PPE.
Plumbing of air, oil, grease and water lines.
PLC programming and troubleshooting.
Hydraulic troubleshooting.
Pneumatic troubleshooting.
Fabrication and Welding of manufacturing parts.

Maintenance and Engineering Manager

Environmental Factors and Working Conditions:

Clean and safe working environment.
Nearly all machinery is indoors.
The manufacturing plant is warm in the winter and hot in the summer.
OT is to be expected based on production requirements.
Education and Work experience

Arizona Licensed Journeyman Electrician
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
5+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience.
