Responsibilities:
Assist in sourcing strategies set by supervisor and department head.
Responsible for sending out development packages out to vendors for costing and sampling each season.
Partner with design from the beginning development stages to make sure their concepts and designs will meet the desired cost targets and suggest cost options that would still maintain the original design intent.
Troubleshoot and clarify any product questions that arise from vendors.
Negotiate costs to meet desired department AUC targets.
Track and follow up on all requested tailoring, assortment and Photo/PR samples to ensure they are on time.
Correspond to all inter-department associates and agents/direct vendors on daily development and production issues.
Interface with cross-functional teams to ensure corporate calendar and production deadlines are being achieved.
Responsible for passing off assortment samples from design to tech design to start the fit process each season.
Receive, review and distribute weekly production charts from vendors (e.g. WIPs)
Manage all of the bulk submits from tracking them, passing to design, and delivering comments back to vendors within a 48-72 hour turn-around time from receipt.
Maintain and organize all bulk submits within their designated style folder.
Attend all fit sessions and tackle any issues that may arise relating to production timing or cost.
Review adopted styles with our QC team to make sure child safety standards are met.
Assist Manager, Director and VP with projects as required.
Build strong relationships with key vendors and cross-functional partners.
Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in a sourcing, product development or production role.
Ideal candidate will have experience with knit categories.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-starter with ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management.
Ability to act with urgency and perform in a fast paced, dynamic organization with time sensitive deadlines.
Knowledge of time and action calendars.
Proficient in PC applications including MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
College degree required.
