Virginia BeachPsychiatric Center (VBPC) is a 100-bed freestanding hospital offeringacute psychiatric and substance abuse services for adults 18 yearsand older, as well as, geriatric psychiatric services. The hospitalis accessible 24 hours a day for admissions, and includes mentalhealth assessments and referral network. Treatment programs andspecialty services at VBPC include substance abuse, dual diagnosis /rapid stabilization and partial hospitalization.
VirginiaBeach Psychiatric Center currently has a Lead Cook(Full-Time) position available. The candidate selected willbe responsible for the following:
Assists in managing and supervising the Dietary Departmentstaff and operations to maintain high standards of quality, serviceexcellence, safety and sanitation through efficient use of resourcesin compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
Directs the staff and operations in the absence of theDietary Manager.
Assists with ordering food/drink items, general supplies andother items adhering to corporate purchasing guidelines.
Prepares food for meals and special functions. Preparespatient/staff trays and salad/dessert bars; serves food to patients,staff and guests.
Performs cleaning, stocking, maintenance, sanitation andtrash removal as assigned.
Requirements
The following are the job requirements for the LeadCook (Full-Time) position:
High School graduate, GED or equivalent experience.
Must possess/maintain a certified Food Service Manager'scertificate.
Two or more years of food production experience and one yearof supervisory experience preferred.
Must possess knowledge of food science, food production,catering, quality and quantity food preparation, sanitation,equipment operations and repair and good oral and writtencommunication skills.
