Job Description:

This Inflight Learning Instructor invests in the future of Southwest’s People by ensuring our Flight Attendants have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to operate safely onboard our aircraft . This role provides Legendary Customer Service while facilitating recurrent training courses that refresh and reinforce Flight Attendant policies and procedures, and they serve as a resource to our nearly 20,000 Flight Attendants to stay updated on safety processes – including evacuation, handling onboard emergencies, and performing respective Flight Attendant responsibilities. This role also p rovides feedback on curriculum and training materials, and t hey’ll a ssist in m aintaining and revising the training material. This Inflight Learning Instructor is passionate about connecting with and championing our Flight Attendants, and t hey’re an advocate for continuous improvement. This Instructor will have the opportunity to grow and learn in their e xpertise each day .

Additional details:
This role is offered as a regional workplace position and Employees must work in the region they support. This could require working from a mix of on-site Company facilities and remote based offices to perform the job function in a regional location determined by business need. Each Department will provide Employees with guidance on when and where presence is required with as much notice as reasonably possible .

Please note, while this is a regional position, there is limited group of states or localities ineligible for Employees to regularly perform their work off-site. Those ineligible locations are: Alaska, Delaware, New Jersey, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S. is required , and no current or future work authorization sponsorship available.

Job Summary
Provide Legendary Customer Service when delivering training. Provide feedback on curriculum and training materials. Assist in maintaining and revising training material. Serve as a resource on policies and procedures for frontline Employees.
Responsibilities
Assist with and/or leads special projects
Facilitate learning programs in both technical and soft skills
Instruct and facilitate classes
Perform administrative tasks including classroom setup, duplication and distribution of materials, etc.
Maintain responsibility for Flight Attendant Training
Provide coaching to class participants and feedback to their respective Leaders
Maintain responsibility for complying with all necessary paperwork, curriculum, and training materials associated with Training program
Accurately represent content to all Customers (Instructors, Business, Sr. Leadership, Safety Risk Management, etc.)
May attend meetings or seminars to obtain information for use in training programs or to inform management of training program status
May perform other job duties as directed by Employees Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology
Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects
Skilled in selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things
Knowledge of airline industry
Skilled in classroom management
Knowledge of adult learning principles
Preferred: Experience as a Flight Attendant and/or in facilitation, particularly experience in adult learning teaching
Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
Intermediate-level experience; fully functioning broad knowledge in:
classroom instruction, facilitation experience or relevant training
public speaking skills
Preferred: Flight attendant experience
Preferred: Experience in Adult Learning Principles
Preferred: Experience with coaching and providing feedback, having crucial conversations
Preferred: Experience making executive decisions with minimal outside guidance
Licensing/Certification
Required: Flight Attendant Certification
Physical Abilities
Ability to perform work duties from limited space workstation/desk/office area for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines

Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $66,150 per year to $73,500 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
