Description
Shift: 10:30pm-5:00am-Friday and 8:00pm-6:00am every other Saturday

Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Fitness & Sports Coordinator, this position is responsible for Fitness Center safety and security during the late night/early morning hours of the 24 hour facility. Cleaning and maintaining equipment as well as working independently to assist members in the Fitness Center and enforce membership rules are essential to this position.
Qualifications:


High School Diploma or GED

1 year of experience in corporate fitness, physical education, athletic training or a related field to include knowledge of fitness equipment and basic knowledge of program development

1 year of experience in enforcing rules, policies and security

Within 2 months of hire: CPR Certification for Adult, Child, and Infant

Within 2 months of hire: First Aid Certification


Position Specific Competencies:


Greets all members in a professional manner as they enter the 24 hour access door

Promotes all aspects of the facility in a positive manner

Circulates around the fitness center so members are aware that you are available to assist them

Promotes the benefits of our facility by example

Is available to provide technique correction and assistance to participants when needed

Unlocks and locks the 24 hour access door; ensures proper entry and exit of members

Enforces membership rules and YMCA policies

Checks membership status as applicable to ensure proper members are utilizing the 24 hour access through the YMCA membership software

Keeps fitness center organized and clean at all times to ensure safety

Completes cleaning tasks as assigned for your shift

Keeps equipment repaired and functional, informs supervisor of maintenance needs immediately

Monitors supplies and informs supervisor when supplies are needed

Reads communication book at the beginning of each shift and responds to each message as applicable

Utilizes internal communications to follow-up with membership issues that may arise outside of business hours

Gets to know members and provides exceptional customer service to retain 24 hour members and ensures proper facility use

Maintains communication pipeline with supervisor
