Applicants for this position may be eligible for Veteran's Preference Points pursuant to A.R.S. §38-492 and the Public Safety Veteran Recruitment policy. In order to be eligible, a DD-214 with the completed Member 4 section must be included at the time of application.
**Initial testing is tentatively scheduled to take place during the week of September 4, 2023**

SUMMARY
Upon graduation from the Fire Academy, incumbents will control and extinguish fires, respond to fire alarms and other emergency calls, protect life and property, and maintain equipment as an employee of the City.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of hire
Must have High School Diploma or G.E.D.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have at the time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Arizona driver license
Possession of a current Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) at the time of application
Possession of a current CPR certification at the time of application
Possession of a current Arizona EMT (EMTP, EMTB) certification at the time of application
SELECTION PROCESS
Applicants whose education, training and experience most closely meet the needs of the position may be invited to participate in a selection process to include a written test and panel interview.
