Description
The Ring Business Intelligence Team aims to provide self-service analytics and reporting at an enterprise level to help drive profitable growth. The primary role for the Business Intelligence Engineer is to provide technical and business expertise in integrating data from a variety of source systems and presenting it through an array of self-service applications. The BI Engineer will support all development efforts as well as the creation of interactive dashboards and data visualizations that are widely used throughout the organization. Additionally, the BI Engineer will be instrumental in the creation of a reliable and scalable infrastructure for ongoing reporting and analytics.

Responsibilities
· Analyze large customer data sets using a variety of database query and visualization tools
· Create end-to-end source of truth data assets in the enterprise data warehouse
· Partner with key stakeholders to document and translate business requirements into technical requirements
· Produce and present daily, weekly and monthly customer focused executive reporting
· Design and develop key performance metrics and indicators
· Perform ad hoc analysis to quickly solve time sensitive operational issues and business cases
· Develop an in-depth understanding and interpretation of all data contained within the various data warehouses
· Clearly communicate any potential data discrepancies and/or reporting downtime, including specific root cause, steps to resolution, and resolution date to a large end-user base
· Provide technical expertise in extracting, integrating, and analyzing customer critical data
· Architect technical solutions for new and existing reporting processes based on technical requirements, including table/view/package/ETL and report design across multiple source systems
· Ensure technical solutions are scalable and easily adaptable to change
· Travel 10% domestic
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS


· Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Intelligence, or Computer Science
· 5+ years of demonstrated analytical and technical experience in a dynamic business environment
· 5+ years of SQL development
· 5+ years of Tableau development
· Experience with transforming datasets into visualizations
· Knowledge of fundamental relational database technology and terminology
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


· SQL development experience using Amazon Redshift, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or similar engines
· Front-End/Self-Service BI visualization development experience using Tableau
· Database development experience in Amazon Redshift, Athena, or similar data warehouses
· Ability to analyze complex data sets, business processes, and quickly adapt to the use of new technologies
· Ability to analyze current work processes and systems and clearly articulate potential improvement opportunities to leadership
· Analytical acumen with the ability to offer end-to-end solutions to solve complex business problems
· Ability to work directly with key stakeholders to gather and interpret functional requirements
· Advanced Excel modeling skills
· Strong organizational skills, detail oriented and process-driven, with an orientation toward continuous process improvement
· Proactive and self-directed in work habits
· Detailed knowledge of call center operations and reporting a plus
· Big Data and NoSQL experience a plus
